At Holdenby House, Icarus Falconry have a unique team of highly trained raptors.

A big part of our team are our Harris Hawks. These are the most intelligent of raptors, often working together in groups both in captivity and in the wild in their native North / South America.

In addition to the afore mentioned magnificent birds, we have the fearless Goshawk, the ultimate hunting bird of prey. These birds are fierce and tenacious pursuers of quarry, often sitting above cover where prey may have escaped to and just waiting for it to re-appear to continue pursuit. They are one of the two indigenous true hawks we have here in Britain, the other being the Sparrowhawk, a sort of miniature version of the Goshawk.

Our hunting days are extremely popular as we keep to a maximum of two people per day, and these days are limited each season so that we may offer top quality hawking experiences. We advise booking early in order to avoid disappointment.
